About Safe Seats Safe Kids
WHAT:
Victorian parents and carers are invited to book in for a free child car restraint fitting or safety check. These checks were previously offered under our Safe Seats Safe Kids program, funded by the Victorian State Government. While the original program has now come to an end, we’ve been fortunate to receive support from Transurban to enable us to continue this life-saving program in Melbourne’s western suburbs in 2025.
WHY:
Correctly fitted and used child car restraints and booster seats play an important part in protecting children from serious injury and death in the event of a crash.
Child car restraints that are incorrectly fitted and used pose a serious safety risk to children travelling in those restraints. From the data collected at Safe Seats Safe Kids events over the past 5 years, 80-90% of child car restraints inspected were not correctly installed or adjusted to transport our little ones safely.
HOW:
Bookings are essential. Parents and carers (including grandparents!) can book in a free child car restraint fitting or check by registering through this website. Please note, if you need to have more than 1 child car restraint fitted/ checked, you will need to choose the number of child car restraints at the start.
